The quality of skateboarding shoes is very important to a skater. Under normal circumstances, the following points should be paid attention to when choosing skateboard shoes:

(1) The material of the sole and upper of skateboard shoes is preferably polyurethane, and the upper is preferably thick suede cowhide, which is more wear-resistant. Pay attention to the position of the shoes you usually use when ollie wears the board. When choosing shoes, try to avoid shoes with wiring in these positions, so as to prevent premature damage to the board shoes due to disconnection.

(2) For some delicate skaters, they prefer to use thinner sneakers. The soles of these board shoes are relatively thin, but they usually have thicker or air-cushioned insoles. The leather used on the upper is relatively soft, and the sand on the board can be clearly felt against the instep when you perform actions. The skaters who do more fierce movements generally choose thicker skateboard shoes, such as shoe soles with air cushions or oil cushions, and thicker tongues, so they feel more bound to the feet.

Skateboard clothing is mainly loose-fitting, and most of the skateboarders choose T-shirts or hiphop-style clothing from skateboarding companies.

It is important to choose the size and curvature of the board that suits you. The board surface is generally made of five-layer, seven-layer or nine-layer wood board pressed by high pressure. The board can be Canadian maple, Chinese maple or birch. The choice of sandpaper must be "sticky" to the feet, which can increase the friction between the shoe and the board. The size of the wheel is calculated in millimeters, the most common is 52-56 mm. For example, a 5331 wheel, the first two numbers (53) are the diameter of the wheel, and the second two numbers (31) are the width of the wheel. The bigger the wheel, the faster it is, and the smaller wheel is more suitable for playing fancy. Most bearings use ABEC coefficients to express speed, which are ABEC1, ABEC3, ABEC5 and ABEC7. For beginners, if you practice skateboarding on smooth ground (such as marble ground or flat concrete ground), you can choose ABEC1-3 bearings; if you practice skateboarding on rough ground (such as a road with anti-skid patterns) , It is best to use bearings above ABEC3. 

Protective gear

Skateboard protective gear includes helmets, knee pads, wrist pads, elbow pads, etc. It is recommended for beginners to use them or use them when doing difficult movements. Generally, protective gear is required in competitions.
